OVERVIEW

The Certificate in Enrolled Nursing course offered by Lyantonde School of Nursing and Midwifery is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career as an enrolled nurse. The course aims at providing competence-based training in skills required by a modern Nurse/Midwife. The program is open to both male and female applicants.

Eligibility

O Level Certificate with a minimum of Passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology attained at a single sitting. “A” Level is an added advantage.

18 years and above.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to cover various aspects of nursing, providing students with a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The following subjects and areas of study are included: Fundamentals of Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Maternal and Child Health Nursing, and Mental Health Nursing, Clinical Practice.

Assessment

Students are evaluated through a combination of written exams, practical assessments, assignments, and clinical evaluations. Regular attendance and active participation in clinical placements are typically required to successfully complete the course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the Certificate in Enrolled Nursing course, students are awarded a certificate that qualifies them to work as enrolled nurses. They may need to meet additional requirements, such as registration with the appropriate nursing regulatory body, to practice as enrolled nurses in their respective jurisdictions.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the program can pursue employment in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, community health centers, and home healthcare agencies. Enrolled nurses work under the supervision of registered nurses and provide direct patient care, administer medications, assist with procedures, and contribute to the overall healthcare team.

We are receiving applications till 30th March 2023 and studies will commence on 2nd April 2023.
